Welcome to The Math Learning Project!
We are excited to invite parents of second-grade students attending public elementary schools to participate in our study!
Our goal is to understand how parents can support their children’s math learning in the early years of school. Through this research, we hope to identify effective parenting practices that foster a positive and constructive learning environment for children.
What Will Participation Involve?
Eligible families will participate in a one-hour lab visit where parents and their second-grade children will engage in surveys and math-related activities. Each participating family will receive $40 as a token of our appreciation.
Eligibility Criteria:
– You must be a primary caregiver (parent or grandparent) of a child currently in second grade.
– Your child must attend a public school in Champaign-Urbana or the surrounding areas.
– Both you and your child must regularly speak English at home.
– You must consent to being videotaped during math-related activities in lab.
